walking01Following on from our meditation explanation, this meditation talks to you about how to meditate while joining one of Dawn’s Walk as You Talk events.

  1. Move quietly away from the conversation in the group of walkers.
From a health and safety point of view, it would be a good idea to let Dawn know that you are going to do this, so that she is aware of where you are and the reason you are being quiet.
  2. Start to look at the environment around you.
What can you see?  What are the colours?  What energies can you feel?  Don’t think about anything!  Just look at and absorb the environment.
  3. Let your mind block out the sounds around you.  Let your mind go quiet.
If Dawn or one of the organisers need to attract your attention, knowing that you are meditating, they will do it quietly.
  4. Don’t let the thoughts that you are thinking stay in your mind.  Don’t let them distract you.  Now is the time to absorb your environment around you.  What are you seeing?  What are you smelling?  What are you feeling?  What are the energies?  What one thing can you focus on in your environment, to let your mind go ‘blank’?
  5. Quietly come back into the conversation of the group when you are ready to do so.
  6. As soon as you arrive at your ‘finish’, get your journal out and capture your thoughts.  Just write them down, don’t think about them, don’t interpret them.  Once you  have written them down, let them go and return to the group.

Dawn also does Walking Meditations as part of some of her Walk as You Talk events … so let Dawn know if you are interested in experiencing one.
