A full inbox sometimes means that you skip over emails that will stop you in your tracks. I saw this email float in (as they all do) and carried on with the task in hand. The next day I was skimming through emails to see if I had missed anything I should have replied to when this heading stopped me! Frost Flowers – what are they?
The photographs included in the email (found below) are exquisite, so I did a little bit of research. Crystallofolia (krɪsˈtlˌoʊˈfəʊlɪə)scomes from the Greek word ‘krystallon’ (crystal) and ‘folium’ (leaf); and is a noun which means frost flowers, ice blossoms, rabbit frost and ice ribbons.
When you look at what nature can create, what stops each one of us looking inward and finding the resources to create something so unique?
The email I received:
Exquisite and fascinating! I had never heard of Crystallofolia and would have no idea what it was if I came across it in nature !… Enjoy
